The Hancock County Alternative Opportunity Center is a collaborative effort among the Educational Service Center’s local schools. The schools include Arcadia Local, Arlington Local, Cory-Rawson Local, McComb Local, Riverdale Local, Van Buren Local, and Vanlue Local.
The Hancock County Alternative Opportunity Center is also a close partner with county agencies including the Hancock County Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Illness Board, the Family First Council, the OSU Extension Office, the Women’s Resource Center, the Hancock County Juvenile Court, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Family Resource Center, Century Health, HOPE House, the Hancock County Job and Family Services, United Way, the Findlay/Hancock County Community Foundation, the Hancock Historical Society, and Challenged Champions.
The program is built on the principles of positive interactions and instruction that offer long term, therapeutic, educational alternatives for up to 14 long term students.
