The Hancock County JH/MS School Quiz Bowl season concluded Monday, March 16, 2026, at Liberty-Benton Middle School with the annual tournament.
Liberty-Benton MS was the 2026 tournament winner with Riverdale MS as the runner-up. The team members from Liberty-Benton MS included Grayson Karhoff, Eliza Baker, Spencer Elsea, Matthew Hochstettler, Henry Coger, Curtis Taylor, Sawyer Robb and advisor Heather Brittenham.
Members of the Riverdale team were Savannah Borkosky, Wyatt Larbus, Reed Palmer, Oliver Suever, Ross Swavel, Bernadette Teegardin, Clay Van Atta, Liam Voll and Michael Zehender. Their advisor is Jessica Woodruff. 81 students participated in this competition from eight area school districts. The eight districts included Arcadia, Arlington, Cory-Rawson, Liberty-Benton, McComb, Riverdale, Van Buren and Vanlue.
The program was organized by the HANCOCK COUNTY ESC’s Enrichment Program Coordinator, Lauri Cedar.
