The stars aligned for our students today! 🌟🚀
A huge thank you to Hancock County Park District for bringing their incredible mobile planetarium right into our classrooms at Riverdale. Our students got to travel through the cosmos without ever leaving the building!
There is nothing quite like seeing that "aha!" moment when a student sees the constellations up close. Thanks for making science come alive! 🔭🪐

Better late than never! 🐴❄️
After a few chilly cancellations, Mrs. VanDenEynde’s class finally made it to Challenged Champions, and it was worth the wait! Our students had an incredible time connecting with the horses, learning new skills, and enjoying the fresh air.

Our classrooms were rocking (literally!) last week as our students dove into some Cardio Drumming! From practicing rhythm to getting our heart rates up, it was the perfect way to burn off some energy and focus our minds.
Who knew exercise could sound this good? Check out these rockstars in action! 👇

Ms. Sheridan’s class took advantage of the beautiful weather yesterday by taking our math lesson to the pavement! 📝✨ The students teamed up to tackle challenging problems using nothing but teamwork and colorful sidewalk chalk. It’s amazing how much more fun long division is when you’re soaking up the sun!

🧠 What a night for brains and buzzer-beaters! 🧠

Hancock County ESC Parent Mentor Dr. Cherie Hocanson and Liberty-Benton Elementary teacher Holly Myers presented at the Spring Parent Mentor Conference at The Ohio State University today. They shared, "Reading Ready: Using Multi-Sensory Tools to Help Caregivers and Educators Develop Successful Readers", connecting the science of reading, best literacy practices for all students, and a toolkit for parent mentors from across the state. Thanks to these student-centered leaders for improving understanding among those who support families!

Kenna was busy today helping our kiddos sharpen those fine motor skills with some St. Patrick’s Day magic! Whether it was pinching "gold" or crafting shamrocks, these festive tasks are perfect for building the hand strength and coordination our students need.
So proud of our hard-working kiddos! ✨

Mrs. Tyson’s class teamed up with FRC yesterday to learn how to handle big emotions. We talked about stress and then put our creativity to work making calming jars.
Check out these beautiful results! Now, whenever we feel a bit stressed, we know exactly what to do: shake, breathe, and watch the glitter settle.

🍀 Luck was in the air today! 🌈
Our wonderful OT and Speech teams joined forces with our classrooms for some festive St. Patrick’s Day fun and skill-building:
• Mrs. Perkins’ Class: Read “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover” and practiced fine motor skills with Fruit Loop rainbows! 🥣
• Mrs. VanDenEynde & Mrs. Tyson’s Classes: Put their listening skills to the test following directions to mix up some Leprechaun Bait! ✨
We love seeing our students work on their goals while celebrating together.

A huge shout-out to David, who has been a rockstar in the cafeteria! Every day before the lunch rush begins, you can find David hard at work helping the cooks prep and making sure the milk is fully stocked for his peers.
We love seeing this kind of initiative and school spirit. Thank you, David, for your hard work and for making the cafeteria a better place every single day! 🙌

🍣 History You Can Taste! 🥢
Did you know that sushi and chopsticks actually have their roots in ancient China long before they became staples in Japan?
Ms. Sheridan’s class wrapped up their Ancient China unit today with a delicious deep dive into history! The students explored the fascinating origins of Chinese noodles and learned how traditional tools and flavors evolved over thousands of years.
It wasn't just a lesson—it was a full sensory experience! 🍜✨

Hard work pays off—especially when it pays off in PIZZA! 🍕✨
Today, Mrs. Perkins' class celebrated a very special achievement: earning all 8 slices on their class reward chart! The students have been working so hard together, showing kindness, and making wonderful choices to reach this goal.

Big news from Mrs. Perkins’ class! We are so excited to announce that three of our hard-working kiddos earned their free personal pan pizza through the Pizza Hut BOOK IT! Program for the month of February! 🥳
These students showed amazing dedication by reading for 10 minutes every single day. All that practice is officially paying off—in the most delicious way possible! 🍕

🚀 Blast off! Our students just went on an out-of-this-world adventure! 🎶✨
Today, two of our classrooms took a trip to the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts for the incredible Spark Series.
To top off a stellar morning, the kids enjoyed a fun lunch out together to refuel after their journey through the galaxy! 🥪
A huge thank you to MCPA for hosting such an inspiring program. It’s safe to say our students’ curiosity is officially in orbit! 👨🚀👩🚀🌌

Tiny fans, BIG tractors! 🚜💨
We’re celebrating National FFA Week today, and our younger kiddos got to see the big rigs up close! There’s nothing like seeing their eyes go wide when they realize just how huge those tires actually are.

🧱 Ms. Sheridan’s Class is Building Greatness!
This week, our historians went back in time to Ancient China! 🇨🇳 Students didn’t just study the Great Wall—they built their own models to understand the incredible challenges faced by the original builders.

🏅 A Day of Fun at East Sandusky Street School!
Our elementary students had the best time wrapping up their week with some classroom-friendly games and a special medal ceremony! 🥇🥈🥉
It was all about teamwork, play, and celebrating each other. We’re so proud of our "athletes" for bringing so much joy and heart to the games today. Great job, everyone!

🐴 A Special Day at Challenged Champions!
Mrs. Tyson’s class had a blast visiting Challenged Champions last Friday! 🌟 Our students loved getting hands-on experience riding and brushing the horses. It was a wonderful day of learning, confidence-building, and making new four-legged friends.
A huge thank you to the team at Challenged Champions for such a memorable trip!
