Ms. Sheridan’s class wrapped up their Ancient China unit today with a delicious deep dive into history! The students explored the fascinating origins of Chinese noodles and learned how traditional tools and flavors evolved over thousands of years. It wasn't just a lesson—it was a full sensory experience! 🍜✨

Hard work pays off—especially when it pays off in PIZZA! 🍕✨ Today, Mrs. Perkins' class celebrated a very special achievement: earning all 8 slices on their class reward chart! The students have been working so hard together, showing kindness, and making wonderful choices to reach this goal.

Big news from Mrs. Perkins’ class! We are so excited to announce that three of our hard-working kiddos earned their free personal pan pizza through the Pizza Hut BOOK IT! Program for the month of February! 🥳 These students showed amazing dedication by reading for 10 minutes every single day. All that practice is officially paying off—in the most delicious way possible! 🍕

🚀 Blast off! Our students just went on an out-of-this-world adventure! 🎶✨ Today, two of our classrooms took a trip to the Marathon Center for the Performing Arts for the incredible Spark Series. To top off a stellar morning, the kids enjoyed a fun lunch out together to refuel after their journey through the galaxy! 🥪 A huge thank you to MCPA for hosting such an inspiring program. It’s safe to say our students’ curiosity is officially in orbit! 👨‍🚀👩‍🚀🌌

Tiny fans, BIG tractors! 🚜💨 We’re celebrating National FFA Week today, and our younger kiddos got to see the big rigs up close! There’s nothing like seeing their eyes go wide when they realize just how huge those tires actually are.

🧱 Ms. Sheridan’s Class is Building Greatness! This week, our historians went back in time to Ancient China! 🇨🇳 Students didn’t just study the Great Wall—they built their own models to understand the incredible challenges faced by the original builders.

🏅 A Day of Fun at East Sandusky Street School! Our elementary students had the best time wrapping up their week with some classroom-friendly games and a special medal ceremony! 🥇🥈🥉 It was all about teamwork, play, and celebrating each other. We’re so proud of our "athletes" for bringing so much joy and heart to the games today. Great job, everyone!

💯 Days of Fun in Mrs. VanDenEynde’s Class! 🍎 We officially hit the 100-day mark, and it was a total marathon! Our classroom was buzzing with activity as we: • 🔍 Hunted for 100 Hershey Kisses (and matched all the numbers!) • 💪 Powered through 100 exercises. • 🥨 Built a snack mix with exactly 100 pieces. • 🕶️ Rocked our custom 100th-day glasses. From filling out number charts to counting every step, it was the perfect way to celebrate how far we've come. We've officially conquered 100 days of learning! ✨

💯 Days Smarter & 100x More Fun! 🍎✨ Mrs. Shelton's class had an absolute blast celebrating our 100th Day of School today! From counting base ten blocks and unscrambling sentences to dreaming big about how we’d spend $100, the energy was electric. Highlights of the day: • 🥤 The Great Stack: Teachers and students were on the edge of their seats during our 100-cup stacking challenge! • 🌟 Challenge Accepted: A huge shoutout to our one superstar student who brought in 100 objects to share! • 🎩 Treats & Hats: Everyone headed home with special gear and a treat to commemorate the milestone.

The Valentine’s Day fun continues! 🩷Students from East Sandusky St. School had their Valentine’s Day party on Friday! 🩷 The middle and high school students made snacks for everyone to enjoy! 🍿🍓 The K-5 students made the decorations! 💌Everyone had a chance to play and spend time together. 🤍❤️

Love was in the air yesterday at Riverdale! ❤️ Our classrooms were filled with so much joy as our students celebrated Valentine’s Day together. From creative crafts to festive games and, of course, some delicious treats, it was a day to remember. We love seeing our students build friendships and share kindness with one another. ❤️ Sweet Success in Mrs. VanDenEynde’s Class! ❤️ We had a "heart-felt" morning of learning today! Students used Valentine conversation hearts to build colorful graphs 📊 and wrapped up the fun with some high-energy group games. 🍬 It was the perfect way to combine math skills with a little holiday spirit!

Logan was one of the top readers for the Van Buren Elementary Read-A-Thon and won himself a book token, where he was given the opportunity to choose a book from the book vending machine! He was so proud, as are we, of his great accomplishment!

❤️ Sweet Success in the Classroom! ❤️ It was a busy Valentine’s Day for our students yesterday! In Mrs. Perkins’ class, students leveled up their OT and Speech skills by reading recipe cards for play dough creations, stringing bead bracelets, and using tweezers for some candy-sorting fun! 🍬💪 Meanwhile, Mrs. Tyson’s class got cooking! Students practiced their listening and sequential processing skills by following step-by-step directions to whip up a Valentine’s treat. 👩‍🍳📖 So proud of these hard workers! 💌✨

Our artists were hard at work yesterday! 🧁 Mrs. Shelton’s class enjoyed a visit from Awakening Minds Art Therapy, where they practiced following directions and sharpening their fine motor skills. They had a blast making these cupcake Valentines! Who wouldn't love a "sweet" treat like this? 😍💌

Raising some little environmentalists! ♻️ The kids spent the afternoon helping break down boxes in our building to get everything ready for recycling. It’s a small chore, but a big help (and great exercise!). 📦💪

❤️ 600+ Reasons to Smile! Our kiddos have been busy making Valentines for a cause close to home! 💌 Under the guidance of our Speech Pathologist, Madi Schwable, our students created over 600 cards for families at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. This is the same hospital where Madi’s daughter, had her heart surgery, making this project extra special for our school family.
