This week was packed with meaningful activities and learning for Mrs. Tyson’s class!
💙 Kindness Jars: Miss Alison from FRC helped our students create kindness jars as a way to spread kindness to others. They also spent time reflecting on affirmations about themselves—such an uplifting experience!
☕ Travelin’ Toms: Our students had the opportunity to serve parents and grandparents through Travelin’ Toms, a special time for connection and community.
🎓 Self-Advocacy and Life After High School: Mr. Todd from Wyandot County joined us to discuss self-advocacy and resources available after high school. Students learned about colleges that offer support for students with disabilities.
🌟 Inspiring Guest Speaker: Justin, a former student now in Project Life, returned to share his experiences and inspire his peers with insights about the program.

🎨 Last week, Mrs. Tyson & Mrs. VanDenEynde’s class had an amazing painting session with Miss Mackenzie from Awakening Minds Art! 🖌️ Our students had a blast expressing their creativity, learning to follow directions, and showing off their artistic talents. Today, Miss Allie from FRC visited our classroom to teach us all about the importance of oral hygiene! We learned about proper brushing techniques and even got to practice on teeth models. It was a fun, hands-on way to understand how to keep our smiles healthy and bright. 🎃🕸 Halloween Fun in Mrs. Tyson’s Class! 🕸🎃
Today, Mrs. Tyson’s class celebrated Halloween with some creative and delicious activities! The students had a blast making their own spider webs and decorating tasty spider cookies. It was a perfect mix of crafting and snacking to get everyone in the Halloween spirit! 🎨🍪

Over the last two days, Mrs. Tyson’s class has been busy crafting their own buckeye necklaces! 🧵 On the first day, they visited Mr. Brown’s shop class to drill holes in the buckeyes, and today they transformed them into beautiful necklaces. 🌿🌎 Yesterday, our junior high students at Cory-Rawson took their learning outside with a walk in the Land Lab! As part of their study of ecosystems in science, they explored nature firsthand, observing the many plants and animals that make up our local environment. Yesterday, our Riverdale kiddos had an amazing time exploring Litzenberg Memorial Woods! They learned all about animal adaptations and how different creatures survive and thrive in their natural habitats. It was a great hands-on experience that brought science to life for our students. Today in Mrs. Tyson’s class, we explored whether pumpkins would float or sink depending on their size! 🌊🎃 After reading about a Fall Festival in Scholastic News where people make boats out of pumpkins, we carved our own using cookie cutters and scooped out all the seeds. The class voted on two flavors for our roasted pumpkin seeds, and the winners were cinnamon sugar and BBQ—yum! #PumpkinScience #FallFun #ClassroomExplorations








On Monday October 14th,Hancock County schools came together for a Professional Development Day. Staff and speakers had the opportunity to connect, collaborate, and engage in a variety of sessions throughout the day, all aimed at enhancing education and supporting our students. Yesterday, our high school students at Cory-Rawson had the opportunity to participate in the Save A Life Tour Program! This impactful event taught our teens about the serious dangers of distracted driving and driving under the influence. Through powerful simulations, students experienced firsthand the risks associated with texting and driving, as well as the effects of driving under the influence. We are grateful for this important learning opportunity and hope it encourages our students to make safer choices on the road. 🚗💡

Hosted by Ohio State Lima, you'll have the chance to explore fascinating experiments and projects brought to you by some amazing organizations, including the Toledo Zoo & Aquarium and COSI.

Busy day for Mrs. Tyson's class! 🎉 The students got hands-on experience with real-world skills today by taking orders and counting money during their morning with the Travelin' Toms Coffee truck. ☕️ Afterwards, they enjoyed a special visit from Heartstrings Melody, making it a day full of learning and fun! 🎶 So proud of these kiddos for putting their skills into action!
