💙 Today was Grandparents Day at Riverdale!
We want to give a big shoutout to all of the wonderful grandparents who were able to come out and spend the day with their grandkids. Your love, support, and smiles mean so much to our students — thank you for making today so special! 💐#GrandparentsDay

Yesterday, Mr. Clark joined in on the fun during a brain break with the kiddos in Mrs. VanDenEynde’s room! 🎉 It’s always great to see everyone getting up, moving, and recharging together. 🕺💃 #BrainBreak #FunAtSchool #LearningAndLaughing

Today, one of our students got some hands-on experience with real-world jobs! 💪 He spent time with our maintenance team, breaking down and compacting boxes. What a great opportunity to learn responsibility, teamwork, and practical life skills! 🧰📦 #RealWorldLearning #LifeSkills #HandsOnExperience

What an insightful day at the HCESC! We were thrilled to host an essential training on Section 504 with the Jessica Dawso from Scott Scriven LLP in partnership with SORSA.

👏 Congratulations to Mr. Daniel Weinstein, our high school ED classroom teacher, for being recognized as Volunteer of the Month by NAMI of Hancock County! 💙
In addition to his dedication in the classroom, Dan gives his time and leadership to convene and lead a local NAMI support group, helping to foster mental health awareness and support in our community.
We’re so proud to celebrate his compassion and commitment—both in and outside of school! 🌟

🎃 To wrap up Mrs. Tyson’s pumpkin unit, students got creative with some festive art! Using paint and nail polish, they designed their own one-of-a-kind pumpkin crafts — each as unique as the artist who made it. 🍂✨ #FallFun #CreativeKids #PumpkinArt

❄️🍂 Mrs. Shelton’s class has been busy talking about the changing leaves—and eagerly waiting for snow to arrive! Since the real snow hasn’t shown up yet, we brought the fun indoors with a classroom snowball fight! ⛄️💙
Our amazing paras also created sensory bins for the students to explore, and the kids made ghostly suncatchers to add a little Halloween sparkle to the room. 👻✨

🌟 Giving Back to the Community! 🌟
On Wednesday, October 22nd, Mr. Weinstein’s high school class had the opportunity to prepare and serve lunch to the folks at the City Mission of Findlay. 🍽️💛
This meaningful experience not only supported a great local organization but also helped students work toward earning their Community Service Seal for graduation. We’re so proud of their hard work, compassion, and commitment to serving others! 🙌✨

This week in Mrs. Kahle's class, the students learned about Dollywood's Harvest Festival! 🍎 They discovered that a bakery there bakes 25-lb apple pies every day, with each slice weighing 3 lbs and serving about 4 adults! The highlight? Making their very own apple pie in a cup! 🍰✨ What a delightful way to learn and end the week!

🎲 Game time in Mrs. Perkins’ class! 🌟
Students had a blast playing Uno yesterday while practicing color and number identification, turn-taking, and following directions. Learning through play makes every lesson more fun! ❤️💛💚💙

🎃 It’s pumpkin patch day for Ms. Wilson’s class! 🍂✨

🎉 Fun Friday vibes in full swing! 🎉
Our amazing RBT, Miss McKenna, let the kids take the lead today by choosing their own activities during ABA sessions! 💛 It was wonderful to see them making choices, engaging, and having fun while learning. What a great way to wrap up the week! 🌟

Mrs. Tyson’s class was hard at work this morning helping out with Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck! ☕️💪 Our students did an amazing job serving up smiles (and coffee!), but after all that hard work, their aprons definitely needed a good wash! 🧺👏 #StudentHelpers #CoffeeCrew #LearningByDoing

💡🧼 Learning to Stay Healthy!
Miss Allie from the FRC visited our students today for an interactive hygiene lesson! Using Glow Germ and a black light, she showed just how effective proper hand washing can be compared to using sanitizer. Students were amazed to see the “germs” glow — a fun and eye-opening reminder about the best ways to stop the spread of germs! ✋✨🦠

🪄🎨 Bubble magic in action! Mrs. VanDenEynde’s class mixed paint and dish soap to create colorful bubble art in their cauldrons! Students also played fun games that helped them practice turn taking, counting, planning, and teamwork. 💫🧪
